Botox

The Youth Rx is proud to assist our patients with Botox.

For years Botox has helped so many men and women successfully treat wrinkles and facial creases. As people age, they long for a more youthful appearance. Botox is able to give them this.

Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle is then not able to contract. This causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. Botox is typically used on the forehead lines, around the eyes, and frown lines. Typically wrinkles are caused as we age, but they are also brought on by sun damage and gravity.

Receiving Botox actually only takes a few short minutes, and anesthesia is not required. You will simply get injected with a fine needle into the specific muscle and feel only mild discomfort.

Our entire staff is dedicated to helping you. We want to ensure that you are happy with your results and that you never feel like you have any unanswered questions. We are here for you before and after your treatment.

Dysport®

Dysport® is an FDA-approved purified neurotoxin prescription injection that is primarily used to treat moderate to severe frown lines. To effectively minimize the appearance of frown lines between your eyebrows, Dysport’s purified Botulinum Toxin properties weaken the muscles in your glabellar area. Dysport® is incredibly effective which is why it is frequently used to enhance other parts of the face.

How long does Dysport® last?
Dysport® lasts anywhere from three to four months and usually takes up to seven days to take effect. The lifespan and effectiveness of Dysport® primarily depends on your physiological makeup, which is why we recommend consulting your doctor at The Youth Rx before beginning treatment. Some common side effects of Dysport® include headache, swelling, injection site pain, or nausea.

Restylane

Here at The Youth Rx, we are proud to assist our patients with a Restylane.

Have you always wanted softer and fuller-looking lips? Restylane is an easy way to get the look for your lips that you have always wanted.

Restylane is the most commonly used lip enhancement for volume and contouring. It is also used to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles that many people get as they age. It may also be used for filling in aging-related facial hollows under and around the eyes. Finally, it can be used for cheek volume and contouring of the chin, forehead, and nose.

Restylane is a great option for people who want to revitalize their skin and increase its elasticity and structure without adding volume.

Once our patients receive Restylane, the effects are not permanent. Typically patients will need to come back every six to twelve months depending on their age, skin type, and lifestyle. The recovery time for the treatment is typically two to three days, and then you will be back in the world looking great!

Our entire staff is constantly staying up to date on the latest procedures. We want you to have the shortest recovery time and the best results. Our surgeons are always continuing their education so you can be sure you will be satisfied. If you ever have any questions prior to or after the surgery, we are always happy to answer them. We want you to feel completely relaxed and know that you are in good hands.

RADIESSE®

RADIESSE® is a dermal filler made of smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. This formulation stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, resulting in a smoother, more youthful overall appearance. It is primarily used for adding volume to the cheeks and chin but is also FDA-approved for the treatment of the back of the hands. Because it is not hyaluronic acid-based, it is not reversible with Hylenex®. RADIESSE® typically lasts up to 15 months when used for contouring the face.

Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectable gel-like substances used to treat a wide range of cosmetic issues in the face and hands, including diminished volume, fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. Several different companies make fillers, and each has its own unique formulations, which are useful for treating distinct problems in separate areas of the face.

By filling in certain areas of the face, we can contour and create the visage you’ve always dreamed of. Over time, dermal fillers are slowly absorbed by the body and most last anywhere from 12 to 24 months before necessitating a touch-up.

Fillers vs. Botox

Dermal fillers and botox are both minimally invasive, injectable cosmetic treatments. Both are performed as outpatient procedures in the comfort of your doctor’s office and require minimal downtime. While both can improve the overall appearance of the face, they achieve this in different ways.

Botox is primarily used to treat fine lines and wrinkles. It is a purified form of the botulinum toxin, but is a safe, FDA approved treatment that has been used for several decades now.

Botox works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles that cause fine lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth, also known as expression lines. By blocking the nerve signals, muscles in the injection site become temporarily paralyzed, thus softening or eliminating wrinkles from the area. These results can last up to three months, and the treatment takes about five minutes to complete.

Dermal fillers, on the other hand, are primarily used to rejuvenate the skin and add volume and fullness to various areas of the face. Different brands and types of fillers are made of varying ingredients, including:

  • Hyaluronic acid, such as JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, and Belotero®
  • Calcium hydroxylapatite, such as RADIESSE®
  • Poly-L-lactic acid, such as Sculptra®
  • Polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres (PMMA), such as Bellafill®

Each of these fillers is designed to treat certain kinds of aging or other cosmetic issues. Depending on which one is used, they can last anywhere from 12 to 24 months. On average, treatment takes approximately 45-60 minutes.

What Can Fillers Do?

Dermal fillers can be used for a wide range of cosmetic procedures in the face and hands to improve your overall look. As we age, we begin losing collagen and elasticity, which ultimately leads to fine lines, wrinkles, and thinning of the face. While many already know fillers are used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, they are also useful for creating contours on the face such as fuller, higher cheeks; defined, structured chins; and smooth, chiseled noses.

The primary uses for dermal fillers include:

  • Plumping lips
  • Enhancing or filling in shadowed areas of the face such as the cheeks and temples
  • Improving overall symmetry and definition of facial features
  • Diminishing or removing under-eye shadows or wrinkles caused by the lower eyelid
  • Filling in recessed scars
  • Softening static lines around the mouth and nose due to loss of collagen and elasticity

Peels

A chemical peel is a technique used to improve and smooth the texture of your skin. The peel gently removes the outermost layer of the skin, leaving you with completely fresh, untouched skin. Results include even-toned, smooth, tightened, and refreshed skin.

Peels are most often done on the face, but can also be used on the neck, chest, and hands.
Chemical peels can be used to treat acne scars, uneven pigmentation, rough skin, wrinkles, fine lines, and sun spots/damage.

How does it work?
Chemical peels are a safe and effective treatment to remove the outermost layers of skin in order to expose new, untouched skin. Your dermatologist will create a chemical mixture specifically tailored to your face and skin type to ensure the best results.

While patients can return to normal activities immediately after treatment, the skin is sensitive and should be makeup free and protected from the sun for at least 2-4 days. Most patients begin to experience peeling after 48 hours, which resolves itself in 2-5 days.
